IPS Syllabus
There are two parts of the examination. The first part comprises of two papers that are of objective type.
Paper 1: includes topics related to Current Events, History Of India, Geography, Indian Politics, Economic And Social Development, Environment and General Sciences.
Paper 2: comprises of Comprehension, Interpersonal Skills, Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, Data Interpretation and English Language Skills.
The second part also has two papers, which include English and Essay. The English paper is mainly comprehension, précis writing, vocabulary and para writing. The final paper, i.e. essay requires the candidate to write two essays on the topics mentioned in the examination. They are based on different aspects.
IPS Eligibility
The age limit for an IPS exam is between 21 and 32 years. The candidate should hold a degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
